Overview
SQOUT® is the first dedicated quantum security risk assessment platform for quantum key distribution (QKD) and other quantum communication systems.
It provides organisations, researchers, and security professionals with the tools needed to understand, analyse, and mitigate security risks across increasingly complex quantum technology environments. Open-Access SQOUT® offers a curated overview of unclassified quantum threat intelligence, showcasing how quantum communication systems can be compromised through both quantum-specific and classical attack vectors. It serves as an accessible introduction to the rapidly evolving security landscape surrounding quantum technologies. The full SQOUT® platform extends far beyond threat visibility. It combines a structured and continuously expanding threat intelligence knowledge base with advanced capabilities for system design, threat analysis, attack modelling, and risk assessment. The platform currently includes more than 114 attack techniques, 119 countermeasures, 31 quantum protocols, 120 hardware components, and 29 software elements, all interconnected through detailed mappings that provide contextual understanding of vulnerabilities and attack paths. SQOUT® enables users to analyse threats across complete system architectures, identify weaknesses linked to specific components and protocols, and evaluate the effectiveness of security controls. Through its integrated modules, users can design quantum systems using QBuilder, automatically detect vulnerabilities with QAnalyser, model multi-stage attack scenarios and calculate risk using QKill, and other tools like QNetwork, QProof and QSystem. By linking threat intelligence, system architecture, protocol analysis, and risk modelling in a single environment, SQOUT® helps organisations move from understanding quantum security challenges to actively securing real-world quantum communication infrastructures.
